Directed by Jeff Fowler with a script from Pat Casey and Josh Miller, Sonic the Hedgehog stars Ben Schwartz as the titular blue hedgehog, with Jim Carrey as his arch-nemesis Dr. That change worked for the better, however, with almost unanimous agreement that the new Sonic design looks great. Sonic the Hedgehog, based on the classic Sega video game, was in development as a movie since 2014, but has endured a variety of delays, not least being pushed back to 2020 so the VFX design of Sonic could be totally changed. Enjoy.With the Sonic the Hedgehog movie having been released last year and garnering box office success, here's a look at what to expect from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, including the sequel's release date and story. Kind of a mindless but somewhat entertaining flick. Almost no skin, unfortunately, which is needed in this type of movie to complete the testosterone fueled genre. Subplot: Goss' mafia boss puts out a contract on Goss for fear that Goss will role over to the federal authorities. On Day 2 of the race Goss is badly burned & comes back on Day 3 in a mask & dubbed 'Frankenstein'. (Yea right!) Lots of CGI makes parts of it come off as a modern day Saturday morning cartoon. They come up with the idea of a 'Death Race' inside the prison compound where the prisoners are allowed to have access to & to use heavy weapons to kills the competition.
Of course it goes bad, he shoots and kills a cop, & goes to a privately controlled prison that promotes televised violence in the prison in order to make money. Synopsis: Goss likes & respects his mafia boss & agrees to do a poorly planned bank heist that he does not believe in. Gross looks the part & does a good job in his role but the rest, for the better part, fall short of acting the part. They spend at least a third of the movie developing relationships, situations that lead up to the race, etc. Preposterous plot plays out okay but the development phase is way too long. This movie is exactly what anyone should have expected when they ordered it & it is a solid middle of the road five star flick.
